Some are understandably scared, confused, unaware of why they were abandoned. But once the staff at The Salomon Klein Orphanage greets these beautiful children, provide them with food and clothing, they no longer have to fear. Your donations help the staff at the The Salomon Klein Orphanage transition these children from an uncertain life to one of hope.

Maria, Alejandro and Josue came to Salomon Klein Orphanage from a home with very unstable parents. Unfortunately, they had all suffered physical and psychological violence during their upbringing. The caring staff at Salomon Klein welcomed the three children and provided them a safe haven. When they first arrived, they were undernourished and neglected in their appearance. They exhibited depressive behaviors as well as some physical and psychological aggressions. The children were brought to Salomon Klein in this deplorable condition, and the parents never appeared in order to claim them. We later learned that the father was imprisoned for domestic violence, and the mother’s whereabouts remained completely unknown.
During their stay at Salomon Klein, Maria, Alejandro and Josue received vital attention and treatment, especially in the areas of physical and psychological health. Over time, the children’s condition improved greatly. Maria attended the Montessori school at Salomon Klein and her brothers attended educational classes here at the orphanage as well. Though the children had no contact with their parents, their aunt and grandmother visited frequently, which gave them an important connection to extended family. Based on the closeness that arose from these visits, the aunt and grandmother decided to apply for legal guardianship of Maria, Alejandro, and Jose. After successfully completing the application process in the family court system, which took almost a year, the grandmother was able to take the children home to live with her. The grandmother expressed that she was so happy that the children had been so well cared for at Salomon Klein, and that the older two had even begun learning to read and write so that they could fit right in with their friends and classmates. This was a real testament to the care and attention that the children received from the staff and Director Emma during their time at Salomon Klein. This is a picture of my sisters and me at Salomon Klein. I am on the left, Karen is in the middle, and Lauriane is on the right.
I have two twin sisters (my biological sisters) and we were adopted together. We are 3 girls who are originally from Bolivia and our birth names were Brenda, Rosario and Carmen. We were all adopted at the same time from Salomon Klein in 2002 by French parents. Our news name are Kathleen, Lauriane and Karen. I remember a lot because I was adopted when I was 7 years old, so I was one of the oldest in the orphanage. I think that we lived in Salomon Klein for 4 years, and so many people in the orphanage were very loving with us. "Mamas" took care of us like they were our moms. We always had something to eat each day (4 times per day) and every Sunday we went to a big park to play with other children. For us, Salomon Klein is really a good orphanage and we are fortunate we had chance to live there. In France we talk with pleasure about Salomon Klein when people ask, "Where are you from?" Now I am 22 and my sisters are 20 years old. I study law and management, Lauriane studies art and Karen is studying communications. We have our family here in France, but Salomon Klein is still our big family and we would like to come back to help children like us and give lot of love like we received. When we came to France, we met Yolaine, Lauriane (Rosario’s) best friend from Salomon Klein. And now they still be best friends but here in France. My Bolivian name was Brenda Ballesteros, with my little sisters Rosario and Carmen, adopted by Olinda and Eric in France. to make a donation, please visit http://www.salomonkleinkidsfund.org/donate.html #orphans #bolivia #cochabamba #salomonkleinorphanage www.salomonkleinkidsfund.org ____________________________ Esta es una foto de mis hermanas y yo en Salomon Klein. |
