Board and Voluteers at The Friends of Salomon Klein Orphanage
This is an all-volunteer effort and every dollar we raise goes straight to the orphanage.

Michael CoughlinMichael, along with his wife, Angela Kelley, and their daughters, Isabel and Amanda, have volunteered for the last four summers at Salomon Klein. The experience has enriched their lives immeasurably. Their connection to Salomon Klein goes back much further, as Angela’s family is originally from Cochabamba, Bolivia and has supported the orphanage for more than two decades. Michael has been a high school ESL teacher in Arlington, VA for over 20 years.

Andrea LaRueAndrea is the mother of two other Salomon Klein volunteers, Lucy and Sarah Schwartz. In her professional life, Andrea advocates for immigration reform among other issues. Andrea is also an active member of Temple Micah in Washington, DC and CASA, an immigrant rights organization in Maryland. Andrea believes her heart got bigger volunteering at Salomon Klein.

Melinda ElliottMelinda and her husband, Richard Elliott, started visiting the Salomon Klein Orphanage in 2016 and immediately fell in love with the children and facility. They plan on visiting the Orphanage a couple times a year. With over 25 years of CPA and accounting experience, Melinda brings a wealth of knowledge to the Friends of Salomon Klein cause.

Angela KelleyAngie's family is originally from Cochabamba, Bolivia. Since 2013, the highlight of every year is to go with her husband and daughters to take care of the precious children at Salomon Klein. And then she thinks about the kids there every day when she comes back home and counts the days until she can see them again. Angie works in public policy to advance the rights of immigrants and refugees.
